School of Theology

School of Theology, St Thomas Crookes – Sheffield, South Yorkshire, theology training

NEXT SESSION

22 Jun09:30

Bishop of Sheffield

Rt Revd Steven Croft joins us live to finish off the SoTaM year in style with all 4 tracks together. Subject TBC.

Over the past 3 years God has used School of Theology amazingly with people travelling to Sheffield from Huddersfield, Rotherham, Hull and further afield. It has been encouraging to us to see that God is using the School of Theology to bless so many different churches.

Our aim is to make theology as exciting and as accessible as possible, so that we might not only learn new things, but also have our hearts touched by the Holy Spirit. As we study the Bible we hope to love Jesus more and put the Bible into practice wherever we are.

We now have 4 tracks; the tried and tested popular Bible and Faith Tracks, as well as a new Life Track and a brand new Mission Track.

Bible

The Bible Track is an introduction to the Bible: its story, key themes and how to read it. This track is aimed at those with little or no experience of studying theology, but who want to increase their understanding of the Bible and create a solid foundation to build on.

Faith

The Faith Track is a guide to the basic building blocks of Christian belief (sometimes called systematic theology). It covers topics like the character of God, suffering, understanding Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Life

The Life Track helps us to engage with how Christianity interacts with the world around us. The track looks at subjects such as art, science, work and sport.

Mission

The Mission Track will help you discover what it is to be a leader in God’s Kingdom and inspire you to develop a Missional lifestyle. It will unpack lessons learnt over 20 years at St Thomas Crookes.

St Thomas Crookes has done a fantastic job at setting up and running School of Theology. We’re delighted to be working with them in this exciting venture of making theology more accessible to Christians right across the north of England!

Rev Dr Graham Tomlin
Principal of St Paul’s Theological Centre, London.

I warmly commend the School of Theology at St. Thomas Crookes: it will deepen your understanding; stretch your faith and equip you for whatever God is calling you to do.

The Rt. Revd. Dr. Steven Croft
Bishop of Sheffield

The School of Theology has been brilliant for those in our church who would never have considered studying ‘theology’, they have found it very accessible and very stimulating and we love the fact that we are learning in the context of worship, praising God first puts it all in perspective. Great hospitality, great worship, great teaching… oh and great muffins!

Revd Mick Fryer
St Aidan’s Hull

It gets your heart connected to your head and your head connected to your heart.

David

This is a fantastic course of teaching sessions; I wish I’d heard about it sooner – once a month is not enough.

Andrew

Love coming, my problem is I wanted to do all tracks – that’s me sorted for the next few years.
